Hey Startup Watching fam, I launched a podcast!

Hey Startup Watching fam, I launched a podcast!

Hey friends,
I know it’s been a long time since you’ve heard from me. Last year Krit grew… a lot. And between that and the pandemic, I was struggling to stay afloat.
So I decided to take a break from Startup Watching, and quit my role leading Startup Grind Charleston. I wanted to focus all of my energy on Krit and my mental health. I’ve talked openly before about my struggles with ADHD and anxiety, and it’s an ongoing battle.
Since then a lot has changed. I moved to Detroit, Michigan! My mental health is still up and down, but definitely more up since the move. We’ll see what happens when winter comes. 🥶
Krit pivoted to focus on product design for cybersecurity startups (we just revamped our website). It’s been a rocky start to the year, we’ve dealt with some turnover and growing pains, but we’ve also made some major progress to employee comp, benefits, and process.
And the reason I’m writing this… I launched a podcast! The podcast is called Small Efforts. It’s a collaboration with my friend, competitor, and fellow agency owner Sean Sun. We talk about design, cybersecurity, and the ups and downs of growing our agencies.
You can listen to the latest episode here, we talk about the funk I’ve been in lately and Sean’s exploration of TikTok. Or you can go back and start with the first episode where we talk about lead gen, misophonia, and having your mom in your corner.
So that’s it… I wanted to give you an update and share the podcast with you. I do have eventual plans to rebrand and revive this newsletter, but for now, I’m focusing on the podcast and writing for the Krit blog.
Cheers ✌️
Andrew
