Happy Thursday Watchers!
I have a request. I’d love to see a picture of where you are in the world right now. Pull out your phone, take a picture of whatever is in front of you, then hit reply and send it. Mine is at the bottom of the email.
It’s week 4 of quarantine for me, and the feelings of isolation come in waves. The first week I was reeling, just trying to make sense of it all and to help my team.
The second week I didn’t want to be productive, but felt I had to be. That week was nonstop meetings. One-on-ones with our team, planning meetings with my partners, strategy sessions with clients going through pivots. I was sick (sinus infection luckily), and my anxiety levels were through the roof, but I kept trying to push through.
Then the third week things started to settle down a little bit. I was still feeling crummy, but on antibiotics and starting to get better. I took a sick day, and spent the rest of the week taking care of important things.
This week started off great. I’m in a lucky position, our work hasn’t suffered too much yet. We still have a couple of leads in the pipeline, and so I’ve been trying to focus on closing those and working on ideas to drum up new leads, while doing the little things the rest of the team needs to do their work.
This week the struggles have been subtler. Feeling more impatient on video calls with people than I should. Not wanting to meditate - my habits have been all over the place. Stuffing my face with gummy bears and then getting hit with a wave of guilt.
However you’re feeling, it’s okay. I’m going to force myself to meditate and eat some veggies tonight, then probably stay up too late baking cookies which will be gone by Friday. If there’s anything I can do to help you, let me know. Otherwise, I’d love to see a picture of your world right now.
Cheers from Charleston ✌️
Andrew
P.S. If you’re in the US, running a business, and haven’t applied for the PPP yet, do it! It’s not too late. But the sooner you apply, the better.
